Scholarships
Recognising that education is a great equaliser which opens opportunities for future generations, BCPT has routed a major part of its funds and energies to this sector. One of our interventions includes giving scholarships to underprivileged youth. Beginning with 10 students and one scholarship programme, the Trust is currently covering 125 students in four schemes. In addition to the scholarships the students are also given training in various areas such as communications, life skills, computer training etc.

The different scholarships and awards are:
- The HT Parekh Memorial Scholarships to bright under-privileged girl students in Municipal schools from Standard 8 to graduation. Our experiences indicate that the scholarship amount – though small – helps build self-confidence in the girls, makes parents recognise the intellectual ability of their girl child and strengthens their motivation and resolve to continue studies. The total effect of the scholarship is the development of these shy, hesitant, unsure girls into confident, assertive and capable young ladies. Since its inception we have provided scholarships to 66 girls of whom 30 have completed their studies, in diverse fields such as engineering, accountancy, nursing, home science, education, biology, computer science, and chemistry. One student is currently studying medicine.
- BCT-Rajni Patel Memorial Foundation Award to students from BMC schools securing highest marks at SSC examinations
- Narotam Sekhsaria Foundation Higher Secondary Award to meritorious students from underprivileged families
- HDFC Scholarships to meritorious students from underprivileged families
